Marshall High Studios on Blannahassett Island

***The building is currently under construction after the devastation of hurricane Helene. Visit our GoFundMe to donate and help us rebuild.***

Marshall High Studios resides in an historic brick schoolhouse, built in 1925 as home to the high school for beautiful Marshall, North Carolina. Nestled on a 10 acre island in the French Broad River, this restored and updated building, along with its 26 studios, auditorium, enormous deck, and parklike setting, has attracted artists in all media, including: painting, textiles, jewelry making, sound recording, yoga/movement, ceramics, photography, design, writing, massage, print making, music, and fiber.

This room is one of the original spaces, renovated in 2007. It was the Neighborhood Studio until 2011-2013 when it went through a gradual metamorphosis into Magictown Movement Studio. Today we cherish the thriving community of folks who flock to the space for connection, inspiration and the benefits of moving together!
